YOU’RE IN THE BEST HANDS

Claude Clémaron is passionate about design and craftsmanship and has carved out a leading reputation for beautiful bespoke fitted furniture.

Established in 1982 and still going strong

Claude began his company nearly 40 years ago when he set up a woodworking bench in a derelict barn. He had a vision to introduce his clients to the enduring quality and value of tailormade cabinetry. So, he placed an advert in House and Garden magazine. “It cost me nine hundred pounds a month, which was a huge investment for me at that time,” he says.

“To get work in London it was also essential to have central London telephone number. I managed to do this by renting a desk in Nottingham Street, W1 to put an answer machine on. Then I used to play back the tape to retrieve new client enquiries. Mobile phones and the Internet didn’t exist in those days. From that moment on the business began to grow from strength to strength.

“This is me in 1994 delivering a pair of rather elaborate alcove cabinets to a local interior design company, one of our regular clients.”

“This is Ian Harris hand finishing a traditional solid oak cabinet in our Midhurst workshop.”

Today, Claude employs some of the country’s finest cabinetmakers in his workshops and studios in Horsham, Sussex. He is still just as passionate about his furniture making business. “I believe it is creative flair, traditional skills and personal service that set us apart. I enjoy the challenge of every client’s unique furniture project and will always take great delight in bringing their ideas to life.”

Our team

A wealth of experience

At Claude Clémaron Bespoke Wood Interiors we employ a team of highly skilled craftsmen of all ages from young apprentices to mature cabinet makers, whose enthusiasm and experience combine to create our bespoke handmade fitted furniture.

Meet your makers

You will be invited to visit the workshop when your project has reached the advanced stage of the build, so you can discuss any changes, as well as handles and finishes, you would like. You’ll then meet your cabinet maker again when they come to supervise the installation of the bespoke cabinetry they’ve created for you.
