Our client?s brief was to design a traditional freestanding bookcase which needed to blend in with the painted brick background. We used a basic colour to tone in with the background and then applied an off-white semi-translucent hand painted drag finish.

Narrow fluted pilasters and bevelled edge

The pair of doors have been handmade in a Shaker design with an applied protruding half round wood panel bead. The dragged paint finish sets this cabinet off as the carpentry is stylish and simple.

Ebony wood turned knobs

A high base has been fitted to this custom-made bookcase to create a sturdy support combined with a significant hidden storage solution. The simple detail of the base has been embellished with elegant door knobs in rich ebony wood.
