These bespoke curly maple bedroom cabinets have an elegantly modern appeal. They look like a matching pair. However, the visual symmetry is an illusion as the cabinets feature faux door and drawer fronts. This is because one of the cabinets has been designed and built with drawers, while the other cabinet has been handcrafted with doors and drawers. The main objective was for the cabinets to look the same when closed. We achieved this with continuous shadow gaps that enable the door and drawer openings to be concealed. This type of cabinet design is extremely effective for larger pieces of furniture and with natural wood or painted finishes.

Customised contemporary cabinetry

The curly maple cabinets have a distinctive wraparound detail that has been created from a real wood veneer flawlessly sprayed with a satin lacquer. The seamless external corners give the pieces a sleek and luxurious look. Curly maple is not a specific species of wood; it is a description of the decorative figure in the grain.
