This special commission was for a pair of matching fireside bespoke walnut bookcases with their home entertainment technology elegantly concealed. Our client wanted us to design and build the cabinets in a traditional style in solid American black walnut wood. Below the bookshelves, the custom-designed left-hand cabinet houses a flat screen TV and the right-hand cabinet a music centre.

Handcrafted in luxury walnut

Walnut wood, with its deep, rich tones, natural lustre and stunning grain patterns, makes it highly sought-after for bespoke luxury furniture. Surmounted by a moulded cornice, the shelves are flanked by hand carved pilasters and finished with exquisite hand turned knobs.

Tradition and technology combined

These two traditional bookcase cabinets showcase time-honoured craftmanship at its best. Details like the raised and fielded panelled doors on the cupboards and classic cornice give the furniture great character. Being bespoke, the purpose-built antique-style cabinets hide the TV screen, sound system and associated cables when not in use, and don’t detract from the period interior.
